The "Public option"

Public option. The word public represents people. People need options too, just like hospital chains, insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies. We seem to be living with (under) their options decade after decade.

Thanks to Fox news, and the general media, people are clamoring to limit their own options in the debate over health care reform. Looking over their shoulders at legislator-hosted town hall gatherings across the country they see seemingly everyday (Joe the whatever) folks with guns and assault rifles strapped to their extremities and rattling off buzz words at the top of their lungs. No to socialism, government health care equals tyranny, out of my cold dead hands.

Let's get real. The fear of communism and/or socialism is a ruse and a dangerous one. It is at the root of nearly all the major complex issues that face our nation and are strangling our growth potential.

This is not your father's war. This is your war. Use your voice, not your father's.
